Medical Staffing International / NZAOT Occupational Therapy Achievement Award
NZAOT are delighted to initiate the nomination process for the following Achievement Award (to be presented at the NZAOT conference). This award has received generous sponsorship by Medical Staffing International Ltd. and is to the value of $1000 to be used for further education, attendance at national or international conference, research or similar activity. The process for nomination is as follows:- If you are aware of any Occupational Therapist (they
must be a member of NZAOT and hold a current APC) in New Zealand who
fits the criteria below then please nominate them.
- To nominate someone you need to follow directions
on the NZAOT nomination form below
- Please ensure that you address each criteria listed,
as it is this information that the panel of judges will have access
to in deciding the recipients for the award.
- Once your form is complete please ensure it reaches NZAOT, PO Box 12506, Wellington by 5pm 30 June.
An innovation is defined as the establishment of new areas of practice, adding a new strand or focus to established areas of practice or re-developing / redesigning things we’ve always done. Nominees for this award need to demonstrate:
- Evidence of initiating or assisting in the development
of an innovative model of service delivery
- Evidence that through the use of a unique model of
service delivery the profile of occupational therapy has been increased
or diversified
- Evidence that the model has proven to be effective
or efficient for service delivery
- Evidence that the innovative model has been implemented
within the last 5 years
- Evidence of promotion, development and progression
of OT services within practice through the innovative model
- The innovation clearly falls within the NZAOT definition
of occupational therapy
- The innovation is an exemplar of evidence based practice
(rigorous reflective process, extensive client feedback, extensive and
well integrated literature search, or based on research (refer to NZAOT
position statement on evidence based practice)
- Efforts undertaken to disseminate innovations to others in practice
- Professional recognition: may come through research,
publication, paper presentation or professional ability.
- Professional growth: continual involvement in professional
improvement as evidenced by graduate work, district, state, and national
association, short courses, workshops, study groups, etc.
- Institutional or agency service: includes
all those services that contribute to growth, development and usefulness
of his/her institution or agency
